Hello, Abbaddonian friends!

The URA recommends a non-binding vote AGAINST Repeal: “Freedom to Read and Learn” by a vote of 24.18% FOR, 29.85% AGAINST, and 17.25% ABSTAIN.

Please see (and upvote!) our recommendation:

URA World Assembly Recommendation

Repeal: “Freedom to Read and Learn”
General Assembly Resolution #234 “Freedom to Read and Learn” (Category: Civil Rights; Strength: Significant) shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

There are some resolutions, wholesome and unobjectionable in nature, that pass this Assembly by very wide margins. These resolutions feel good to write, feel good to vote for, and feel good when they pass. Feel-good resolutions seem innocuous. When done carelessly, however, one author’s little pork project can transform into another nation’s slaughterhouse.

The target's sole binding provision is as follows: "No person shall be punished for reading, nor for enabling oneself and/or another to read, nor for acquiring knowledge and/or cultural enrichment from non-readable media or reading media adapted for individuals with disabilities, provided that the material was legally published with the intention that it be publicly available."

  1. Theft of library books or computers happens to be one means by which one could engage in "enabling oneself and/or another to read." The target effectively gives people free rein to steal devices that can access literary works and burgle buildings that contain them, so long as at least one accessible or contained work "was legally published with the intention that it be publicly available." Something being publicly available does not mean there should be no restrictions on acquiring or accessing it.

  2. The target's mandate is results-based and extremely broad. Put differently, "enabling oneself and/or another to read" does not take intent into account. In every incident similar to the ones detailed above, authorities must determine whether the perpetrator's actions enabled them or anyone else to read any applicable material, regardless of what their intention was or what crime they allegedly committed. This has the deranged effect of randomizing justice and imposing inane overhead on law enforcement.

  3. The target's test depends on the intention of a work's publisher, not its distributor or acquirer. As long as potentially dangerous reading materials such as bombmaking instructions, classified information, or extremist recruiting materials, or even just pirated or stolen content, are legally published in some jurisdiction, even a nonmember or a rogue state, with the intent that they be publicly available, members are powerless to protect their people from them.

In seeking to protect the principle of reading and learning, the target instead leaves people unprotected and endangered by the consequences of its poorly crafted language. As pointless fluff, the target offers minimal benefits while lending itself to inordinate damage. The good that would be done by repealing it far outweighs the good of leaving it intact, and it is fitting that a feel-good resolution can be struck by a feel-good repeal.

This General Assembly resolution was authored by Cretox State and aims to repeal GAR#234, Freedom to Read and Learn.

The United Regions Alliance recommends that you vote AGAINST this resolution

This resolution seeks to repeal GAR#234, legislation originally intended to defend the free access to literature and written material of WA member state citizens. The repeal argues that the thirteen-year-old resolution's single active clause is inadequate to handle the various niche cases which exist in the modern world, and legalises what would otherwise be severe criminal activity in many WA member states. The URA, however, does not believe that these harms caused by the resolution's flaws outweigh its benefits in defending the ability of WA member state citizens to freely access literature and religion. Instead, believing that a reasonable interpretation of the resolution does not permit the legalisation of theft or espionage, and given these arguments, the URA urges a vote AGAINST this resolution.

Hello, Abbaddonian friends!

The URA recommends a non-binding vote FOR Repeal: “Liberate The Crown Dependency of Hong Kong” by a vote of 72.01% FOR, 0% AGAINST, and 0% ABSTAIN.

Please see (and upvote!) our recommendation:

URA World Assembly Recommendation

Repeal: “Liberate The Crown Dependency of Hong Kong”
Security Council Resolution #483 “Liberate The Crown Dependency of Hong Kong” shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

The Security Council,

Remembering The Crown Dependency of Hong Kong a small, fledgling, frontier colony of Empire of Great Britain, which became embattled in late 2023 as barbarous forces from beyond the region’s borders invaded and took control of the region,

Recognizing that during this period of instability and strife, this esteemed council passed a liberation to preserve the region and its community,

Understanding that following the invasion, the community of The Crown Dependency disbanded and its nations returned back to their mother region which chose other avenues for developing its community and pursuing growth in the frontiers,

Acknowledging that the liberation has outlived its original purpose, and now acts as a barrier preventing its former community from reclaiming the space and protecting it,

Seeking to allow the former community to reclaim and preserve their former home,

Repeals Liberate The Crown Dependency of Hong Kong.

Co-authors: Mar Teret, Her Majesty Queen Victoria, Gagium

This Security Council resolution was authored by One Small Island and aims to repeal SCR#483, Liberate The Crown Dependency of Hong Kong.

The United Regions Alliance recommends that you vote FOR this resolution

This resolution seeks to repeal SCR#524, which liberated The Crown Dependency of Hong Kong due to the region's occupation by hostile forces. As pointed out in the repeal, however, the region has since been restored to its rightful residents, and thus the injunction is now an active hindrance. The URA agrees that the injunction should be retired, and urges a vote FOR this resolution.

RP: nothing much but it's across different regions of this site.

The people have noticed something Strange around their country's flags. A flag has appeared in all of them. One that seems to signal that they're nothing more than a colony of him.

Fourian, New Minecraft 2, Birkslavia, and so on. Theories have popped up on why does this White and Blue flag is starting to appear on all of these nations' flags. From Him being the one controlling them all to getting a chuckle or shock from the others across the site after his big birthday. One thing that connects them is their sloth; only solving issues for now. But I know that they'll be acting peacefully.

Forrikan Officer Jubert Drovnik: This is a concerning matter to us, of course.

General Andrew of N.M.2: If even we have it, then they're powerful than l thought. Any ideas?

The president of Katyo: Maybe things could be looking up for us.

Jubert Drovnik (Forrikan Officer): Like what, sir? Like what?!

President of Katyo: like... Oh...

General Andrew of N.M.2: But no matter. For we can still go through this strange time

Alice Kildenburg of Velvenia: I believe that there's nothing to explain it. Sorry.

RP: Return of the Dragon Prince

CLICK!

The sharp sound of the heavy iron latch on the Inn’s back door turning broke the stillness of the garden.

Elizer’s eyes snapped open, his hand instantly flying to the holster at his hip. He shoved Elizabeth gently behind him, pivoting on his knee to shield her as the heavy wooden door creaked open, spilling a long rectangle of dim, yellow light from the kitchen into the dark garden.

"I really am sorry to intrude on you both." a grim, familiar voice said from the doorway.

Elizer drew his sidearm, the training of the Steel Wolves kicking in, the muzzle leveling directly at the man stepping out into the garden. But as the moonlight caught the battle-scarred features and the regal, albeit exhausted, posture of the intruder, Elizer’s finger froze on the trigger once he realized who it was.

Behind the man, the massive, hulking form of Jake stepped quietly out of the kitchen, having to duck slightly to clear the doorframe, his heavy cannon slung across his back.

"Jesse?" Elizer breathed. He slowly lowered his weapon, his mind struggling to reconcile the ghost standing in front of him with the reality of the apocalypse overhead. "I thought you were dead? Or hiding in the mountains?"

Elizabeth peeked out from behind her brother, her breath catching in her throat. Even through the fog of her exhaustion and grief, the sight of the Dragon Prince—the symbol of the Empire she had adopted, the Empire she had fought for— she knew he still deserved her attention.

"I was." Jesse said softly, his boots crunching lightly on the gravel as he stepped down into the garden. He didn't look like untouchable royalty. His armor was scorched from the battle at Mount Kadar, and he carried himself with the heavy, ruthless weight of a frontline commander.

"But the world is ending again Elizer. And I need your help."

Elizer stood up, keeping himself between Jesse and his sister. "Help from us? Have you looked up recently? The sky is falling. The one your father called Galen is here. My PMC channels are screaming about orbital strikes and a full-scale planetary invasion. We're locking down."

"Locking down won't save you and you know it." Jesse said flatly. "Galen isn't just here to conquer. He's here to rewrite reality. He took Bahamut. He shattered the fleet."

Jesse looked past Elizer, his gaze settling on Elizabeth. His expression softened marginally, recognizing the raw, devastated state she was in.

"Beth..." Jesse said, his voice quieter, though no less intense. "I know about Henry. I know about the Draikans."

Elizabeth stiffened, her hands balling into fists, her defensive instincts flaring back to life. "Then you know why I'm staying right here. I have nothing left to fight for."

"You and I both know that missing doesn't mean dead." Jesse corrected her, his eyes locking onto hers with absolute, unshakable conviction. "And I know that right now Galen's forces—led by my father's brother Victor—are mobilizing to find something buried on this planet. Something that will give Galen the power to erase everything we've ever known."

Jesse turned his attention back to Elizer. "We need to find the Mother. Tiamat. She sleeps beneath the Dark Islands in the Rowandale Remnants. If Victor gets to her first we will lose everything."

Elizer scoffed, shaking his head. "Tiamat? The Dark Islands? Jesse that's suicide. Those islands are a labyrinth of primal magic. And the Pyramids have orbital supremacy. The moment we step out of this town in a transport they'll destroy us."

"Which is why we need to be a scalpel and not a sword." Jesse countered, stepping closer. "We need to move off the grid. Slip under their radar. I need your smuggling routes Elizer. I know the Steel Wolves have assets hidden in the coastlines here. And I need the best trackers on Abbaddon to navigate the islands."

Jesse looked back at Elizabeth. "I need you Beth. Both of you."

"Why should we?" Elizabeth asked, her voice raspy, fighting through the nausea and exhaustion. "Why should we follow a dead Prince into hell when we've already lost everything?"

"Because the route to the Dark Islands cuts right through the western territories." Jesse said, his voice steady, offering the one thing he knew she couldn't refuse. "It cuts right through where the Draikans operate."

Elizabeth stared at him, the words sinking in through the fog of her despair.

"You help me save the universe..." Jesse said, extending a hand not as royalty, but as a fellow soldier. "And I give you my word. We will tear through the Draikans. We will find out exactly what happened to your husband. And if he's still alive we will bring him home. So now I am going to ask you both the most important question I ever have... Will you follow me? One last time?"

Elizabeth and Elizer both looked at each other and then finally nodded in agreement before looking back at Jesse. "What is it you need us to do?"

HAIL TO THE MILITARY!
The constitution has now been cancelled. The Republic of Fortus-Vertinax has now been fully taken over by the military, and the new constitution will now be in place. The Fortitude and Truth Newspaper will now be fully state-owned, and majority of government funds will go to the military.

The Supreme Leader, President Varaon, has now been taken out of power, and the General of the Republic, General Trevor Stetson, will now be sworn in as the Supreme Leader, although he prefers the title President.

Term limits and Native representation have been cancelled, and all democratic elections will now be cancelled for the foreseeable future.\

"To a new tomorrow!", President Stetson says. Indeed, this will be a new future ahead, dear citizens.

For Progress, Strength, Truth, and God!

RP: The Purge begins

President Stetson: Are the plans ready?

??? 1: Yes, Mister President. All political opposition will be suppressed. State-press will be in place before people can realize where Fortitude and Truth Newspaper can report.

??? 2: What do you plan on using the remnants of Fortitude and Truth for?

President Stetson: ... Nothing much. Just get from them as much information as possible. We have to make sure no mole has infiltrated our government. Fortitude and Truth is known for such actions.

??? 3: Mr. President! The mob has been protesting for free elections. Give me the to-go order and we will begin the purge.

President Stetson: You do not need to ask. Just do it. I promised myself I will be firm, and I will keep that promise. *sigh* They will know that any opposition to progress... is treason.

*all look around and reluctantly agree*

President Stetson: Now, go.
